“I was driving our family car and all of a sudden the ABS light came on along with the brake light and others. Car was difficult to stop. My husband told me to shut off the car and restart. That temporarily solved the problem but it then happened again 2 days later. It is not safe to drive!”

NHTSA complaint #10563699, filed 2014-02, 48,500 miles

“When I was driving at 65 MPH..the check vsc system warning came on. This happened about 1 month ago. I thought nothing of it because it went off after I started the car again...so 3 weeks later it comes on again and goes off. When it cane on the brakes didn't work as well, and all of the warning lights were on. Yesterday on 3/25/2015 it came on and has now stayed on. The brakes are working correctly, however, I know something is wrong. I have been researching this issue and found out that Toyota is assisting with fixing this issue. M y next step is to call them.”

NHTSA complaint #10701968, filed 2015-03, 150,038 miles

“Abs and warning signs were on dash. 1st time ever happened. On a busy intersection car was barely stopping. Once realized car was not stopping got off busy intersection and got to safe area. Brakes did not work at all.”

NHTSA complaint #11032013, filed 2017-10, 194,500 miles

“My Toyota Camry Hybrid 2007 model had the uncontrollable acceleration problem on multiple instances making it hard to control and once in a potentially life threatening situation. I called the closest dealership and took it for examination, they asked me to reproduce the problem on the spot, but I was not able to at that instant. The dealership then later said it was likely due to floor mats and I had the floor mats secured (even thought that did not appear to be the cause.) based on recent reports I am concerned that it is likely due to a different mechanical problem acknowledged by Toyota. …”
