“My vehicle stalled out 3 times in one day while stopped a t a traffic light. Windshield wipers were on (I do not recall what setting). First message displayed advised to press firmly on brake, which I did. Second message was low power steering and the engine shut off completely. I had to put in park, turn off, and restart. Thankfully it did without issue.”

“I was stopped at a light and the check engine light came on, warning sounds and low steering power light flashed. Car would not move. I was able to put the car in park and turn off and back on and was able to proceed. Dealer found no error codes or defects when I took it to the dealership. They are keeping it for more diagnostics.”

“I was pulling up to a stoplight and the EPS electrical power steering light came on and warning of power loss to steering wheel, low engine power and auto start stop indicator light was also illuminated. I put the car in park turned the car off and back on and then the system reset and I was able to drive normally. This is a brand new car that I purchased Monday (2 days ago)”

“It was a snow/ rain day I had my wipers on and was stopped at a traffic light when my engine stopped and I got a message on my dashboard “ engine stopped power steering low”. This vehicle is new with less than 5000 miles. I had to turn off the engine and restart the car in the middle of traffic.”

NHTSA complaint #11564463, filed 2024-01

“This has happened twice to me now. Stopped at a stop light, rainy day, the auto start/stop enabled. The car suddenly dies, all lights come on, engine off. Tells me to step on brake to restart, but it never does. Eventually after 45 sec of trying to restart the car, it eventually does after 4-5 tries.”
