“Because Toyota will not enable entune 3.0 to work with google maps I feel that they are deliberately endangering my safety. I now have to use my phone to look up addresses instead of a hands-free option. Their scout GPS maps is frequently wrong and does not provide the navigation I need on a daily use basis.”
NHTSA complaint #11378131, filed 2020-12, 40,000 miles“After getting gas, once I got onto the highway, about 400 or so feet, my car started shaking violently and then my check engine light came on. I didn't know what was happening and my car was slowly stopping on its own accord. Luckily I was able to get off on the nearby exit, my car slowing by itself as I drove. As I turned in to go to a gas station, my car stopped on its own completely, even when I tried to push on the gas. I turned the car off and waited about 5 minutes. …”
NHTSA complaint #11300305, filed 2020-01, 18,400 miles“I started my car and put it in reverse, as I backed out of the driveway the car seized in the middle of the city street I was backing onto and I could not get it to move no matter what I did. A couple of dashboard lights came on, I wasn't able to shift or get out of the way of oncoming traffic. One of the lights that came on had an exclamation point. My steering wheel would not move either. I shut the car off and restarted it, it ran after that. I have since been very wary about driving because I'm afraid I'm going to be driving and it'll just stop working again.”
NHTSA complaint #11289237, filed 2019-12, 12,000 miles“I drove my car to get gas on november 24, 2019. After I got full tank of gas, I cannot start the engine. The engine would make a noice like coughing, and whole car would shake, all the electric (lights, meter, music) would be on, but the engine would go back to 'dead'. On the display screen, it would show the 'battery' warning icon. I immediately tried jumpstart, but I still cannot start my vehicle so it's not simply a batteries problem. (actually, I think the battery itself has no problem.) the dealership was not in service on sunday, so I have to paid to get my car towed at the night- drop. …”
NHTSA complaint #11282834, filed 2019-11, 10,000 miles“Seven months old vehicle, front windshield got crack beginning from driver side till the center. Chip is not visible to me. Poor quality of glass. Took the vehicle to the dealer to get evaluated. The dealer made a report of a very minor chip one inch away from the right side corner. The car has 6209 miles on it and garage kept. Bought in jan 2019. Yes its a brand new car.”
