“I I have been having a loud sound from the passenger side rear... I have had the car for 3 years I had to have the sway bars replaced within the past 6 months.. I am highly afraid that this is associated with recall that supersede 13v-383 which was prior to when bought the SUV.. It's hard to tell if the sound goes away after some time driving but is very noticeble at low speed”

NHTSA complaint #11367041, filed 2020-10, 113,585 miles

“An urgent safety recall was issued for my car in august 2016 for the rear lower suspension arm which can cause loss of vehicle control. My dealer is still unable to get the parts. I contacted Toyota directly and was told there is a remedy but a shortage of parts, and to make an appointment to be put on the waiting list. Really? I've already waited 18 months. I drive on the interstate every day and hear grinding noises coming from the back of my car.”

NHTSA complaint #11053750, filed 2017-12, 52,000 miles

“Toyota wants to replace my rear suspension arms, align my wheels and the encase arms in epoxy. This will prevent any future alignments to my car without having to replace the suspension system. Something that was done on the last recall of the front end. However this time they are refusing to do the same thing. This is not returning the condition of my car to the condition it was in when I bought the car. And it is not acceptable to me.”

NHTSA complaint #10915259, filed 2016-10, 104,000 miles

“2008 Toyota rav 4 limited has had handling issues on the freeway with stability. This has happened a couple of times. Dealer says that nothing is wrong. Previous time this occurred, vehicle returned handling differently. Considering the computer brain running this car, we believe they reset the computer. This is happening again. We are taking it in again.”

NHTSA complaint #10329239, filed 2010-05, 22,400 miles

“The rear suspension wheel nuts gave up, which caused the entire car go to the ditch. My wife and my two kids was on the car, and luckily they get out and safely stopped the car. Toyota informed me that they repaired these rear bolts last year because it had recall before, but still the issue is happening even if they perform repair. Literally this can cause a lot of bad accidents and lost if Toyota even don't repair correctly on the rear suspensions of RAV4.”
