“2010 Toyota RAV4 limited edition. The low pressure light comes on in the dashboard when all four tires are properly inflated. Tri county Toyota blamed it on the tire pressure in the spare. This problem is recurring and causes one to second guess their tires. They do not have a solution to fix this problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10386757, filed 2011-03, 2,500 miles

“My tires are a 225/65R17. repeatedly, in heavy rain or very wet snow, the tires on mounted on the driver's side hydroplane and lose traction. I am concerned that this problem is due to the design of the tread. This is a directional tire that is only designed for the right side of the vehicle. Tires mounted on the Left side of the vehicle channel water/wet snow toward the center of the tire, causing them to hydroplane under these conditions. All other road conditions: ice, light rain, snow, dry roads, the tires are noisy but do not lose traction”

NHTSA complaint #11436782, filed 2021-10

“The contact owns a 2010 Toyota RAV4. While driving at approximately 25 MPH, the tire pressure warning light illuminated. The contact noticed that the front passenger side tire was flat. The contact also stated that the rims would separate from the tire and detach. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure could not be duplicated; however, the rim was replaced but the failure recurred multiple times. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000. The VIN was unavailable.”

NHTSA complaint #10676769, filed 2015-01, 30,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2010 Toyota RAV4. The vehicle has toyo tires, model number a20, and line size 225/65/r 17. The contact stated the low tire pressure warning light illuminated. The contact found the rear passengers tire was flat and there was a screw puncturing the tire. After checking the remaining tires, he found that the rear drivers tire pressure was above 50 PSI. The DOT decal stated that 32 pounds was the recommended PSI for rear and front tires. The contact stated the tire pressure was in excess of 50 pounds. The dealer was not notified. …”
