“Takata recall. The parking light would come on intermittently, and we had it looked at by a Toyota dealer. They recommended to replace the ecu, which we did. This didn't fix it. The car got worse and started shaking when I drove and when I stopped it would shake and make a grinding noise. We had it looked at and the braking system serviced. The problem is still there. This is a common problem with this year and a dangerous flaw in these vehicles.”
NHTSA complaint #11255004, filed 2019-09, 80,000 miles“The vsc off/ trac off and check engine and brake light all came on. The brake started to jump and the car pulled hare to the left. I turn the car off and back on the problem went a way but the lights all came back on. However there are a lot of people having this problem with their Sequoia and I have seen no safety recall for this.”
NHTSA complaint #10615600, filed 2014-07, 185,790 miles“I was driving the truck when I heard a noise in the tires like they were falling down I had encounter this when I had the truck new . But it is stop and 10 years later it is doing it again I believe the dealer should fix it because I read a lot of people have this problem it can cause a accident .so I'm concern and would like to get it fix thanks .”
NHTSA complaint #10496235, filed 2013-02, 103,000 miles“Going around a turn in the mountains at a slow speed, my traction control kicks in and there is a grinding noise, I loose the use of the brakes completely until the traction control turns off. I took it to the dealer and they told me my springs and shocks were bad. I replaced all 4 of the springs and shocks and the problem persists. This is very dangerous and scary.”
NHTSA complaint #10630907, filed 2014-09, 130,000 miles“Street lights came on, svc, track off and ABS. That will cost around $1150. Plus taxes. That I think is not right because it's been many complains about this matter. And for this mileage it shouldn't be the time please we need help because if we get minimum wage than we won't be able to afford it. Please help.”
