“I received a recall notice for the airbag as part of the large recall notice. I took the truck in for a replacement part and the dealer did not have the part at the time. It has been 2 months and still no part or any idea when one will be available. I now have a vehicle that is limited in its use and can not sell, due to the liability of the new owner not following the recommendation to not use the passenger seat. Seems like if a recall is initiated there should be a timely resolution.”
NHTSA complaint #10670607, filed 2015-01, 108,000 miles“I have owned my 2005 Toyota Sequoia for a couple of years and recently my srs light came on, then my cruise control quit working, and recently horn quit working. These all took place in a matter of a few weeks. After diagnosing the issue with my mechanic, it was determined that my spiral cable/clock spring failed. This vehicle is only 6 years old, and I am now driving without a horn or air bag protection, until I can save ~$350 to get it replaced. This is a high risk item and should have a longer life expectancy.”
NHTSA complaint #10401192, filed 2011-05, 69,987 miles“This has been going on since april 2010, its now november 2010 with no resolution. My 2005 Toyota Sequoia trac off, vsc trac, check engine lights and ABS lights keep coming on. Brought into the dealer three times while the lights were on so the dealer could put it on the computer. No codes show up. I am told that it's not covered even though we have the Toyota certified bumper to bumper warranty. They recalled the 2003 for the same problem. They need to do the same for the 05. Repair cost for this is $2200.00.”
NHTSA complaint #10363561, filed 2010-11, 93,912 miles“I tried to make apointments to local dealers they set up appointments and than don’t do nothing about it they said the don’t have any certified tech to do the job so I left with this mess not knowing when my ride is going to give. Out on me I got about 319000 miles Toyota should be proud and thank me for keeping my ride up to date I do my part to have it running good but they not doing there part to help me with these recalls please help me out.”
NHTSA complaint #11480298, filed 2022-08“In october of 2020, I scheduled an appointment for my airbag recalls at my local Toyota dealer (lia Toyota of colonie). My appointment was on october 22, 2020. After devoting a day to this, I was dismayed to learn that my vehicle could not be repaired because the parts were backordered. They said they would let me know when the parts were in. Several weeks went by, and I heard nothing. Then, I get a cryptic message from someone in their parts department, and gave me a number to call back. …”
