“I have had my secondary air pump replaced twice already. Now six months later am having the same codes and the truck is back at the dealership. Throws code p2443 valve stuck closed.....on a 6 month old part. This w=has been an issue with this and other toyota models since 2012. Why is there no recall on these?”
NHTSA complaint #11618259, filed 2024-10“The contact owns a 2014 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 - 50 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with rod knock, valve train, and engine failure. The vehicle was not repaired and remained with the independent mechanic. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 133,000.”
