1995: “Yes I wrote awhile back about my ball joint snapping in half going 55. It was the lower one but it wasn't where the ball joint was it was the metal part about an inch and a half from where the ball joint was. Due to rust. The man whom I finally found who bought it new said he never received any kind of notice about the rust on the vehicle.”
NHTSA complaint #11386050, filed 2021-01, 180,000 miles2019: “The passenger seatbelt light keeps blinking when seat belt is buckled and it says passenger airbag is off while there is someone in there and buckled up. This happens when parked or driving, we have unhooked the battery to try to reset it. No luck. I am afraid if we were to get in an accident the passenger airbag would not deploy.”
NHTSA complaint #11414204, filed 2021-04, 19,520 miles2020: “I just bought a new 2020 Tacoma sr5, and it has very poor acceleration when passing other vehicles. There is a significant dead spot when accelerating. It seams to have a transmission delayed shifting response time when driving. I consider this unacceptable for a new vehicle. It runs worse than my old car. It runs like all the fuel injectors are dirty. …”
