2018: “Upon turning on the car the climate control unit will not turn in. This has caused the unit to completely not work as I cannot adjust anything or turn it on. There are no lights, no air, no response. Turning the car off and on again does not remedy the situation. I have had the unit replaced once already and barely four months later the issue began again.”
NHTSA complaint #11405995, filed 2021-04, 22,600 miles2007: “ABS Brake Actuator failed, this malfunction came out of nowhere, making me unable to stop my car and putting my life at risk. I have not seen any official recall on this from Toyota, but I’ve seen many people have this same specific issues on Toyota forums. The ABS, brake, and slip light came on all at once while my car made a continuous beeping sound. This all happened as my brakes went out.”
NHTSA complaint #11515407, filed 2023-04, 118,000 miles2013: “While my car was sitting in my driveway, my sunroof exploded. If I had been driving, this would have been very dangerous. The evening before I heard a pop . That night, I could not locate the source. The next morning, I realized my sunroof had shattered. I contacted Toyota. They took a report, but I don't think they took me seriously.”
