“Was driving approximately 110 km/hr this morning on a major highway when my driver side front window blew out. I heard a loud boom and the window popped. It shattered into a million pieces and alot of it in my car all over me. I was in the slow lane and there was nothing next to me or passing me. The driver some distance behind me pulled over when I did to see if I was okay as he saw glass flying. I called the dealership and of course they blame it on a rock or something. My question is how does a rock hit my window when there is no traffic in front of me or passing me??? …”
NHTSA complaint #10404060, filed 2011-06, 170,000 miles“The contact owns a 2007 Toyota yaris. The contact stated that the air conditioner leaked water inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership where it was repaired several times. The contact noticed mold and mildew on the carpet on both sides. A mechanic informed the contact that the leak was caused by tissue and napkins in the glove box clogging the drain valve. If the contact left the glove box empty, it did not leak. The failure mileage was approximately 14,000. The current mileage was approximately 70,000.”
