“I was trying to park the car in a parking spot. There was a curb to my right, So I was turning carefully to not rake my wheel against the curb. The car suddenly accelerated by itself, jumped the curb infront, hit a tree and stopped. It accelerated so much and hit the curb so hard, that the entire front right side was destroyed.”
NHTSA complaint #11749746, filed 2026-07“The odometer is reading far higher than the actual mileage. Available for inspection upon request. My or others' physical safety are not at risk. No, it has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, as it is an intermittent issue. I do have a lot of photo and video evidence that proves the problem, though. In fact, it was a VW service advisor that suggested I begin collecting all possible evidence. …”
NHTSA complaint #11771873, filed 2026-10“The car is unlocking itself without anyone using the key fob or the app to unlock it. This puts us at risk for someone breaking into our car and stealing it, or worse waiting in the car to carjack us. We have 3 videos to document this as well and several times it wasn’t caught on video. The infotainment system has also been fully rebooting itself while driving, which has happened 3 times in the past week alone. When it reboots we lose access to navigation, climate control, and the regular speedometer view”
NHTSA complaint #11697968, filed 2025-11“3 times in the last 4 weeks, I have had a situation where I get into the car to drive it and the Infotainment screen is black and not functional. The only way to reset it is to get out, lock the car, and come back 15 minutes later and it resolves itself. During the time the Infotainment screen is not functioning, the car is still drivable, but if you put it into reverse the backup camera is not shown on the infotainment screen, nor are any other of the assistive/safety features involved with parking or safely backing up the vehicle. …”
NHTSA complaint #11675986, filed 2025-07“While driving slowly in B mode, I began pulling into a parking space in Home Depot parking lot next to a planter, keeping my foot on the brake pedal. Suddenly, the vehicle unexpectedly accelerated, surged over the tire stop, crossed a raised concrete center walkway, and continued over the planter on the opposite side. The vehicle finally came to a stop after traveling approximately 50 feet, despite my foot remaining on the brake pedal throughout the incident. One tire is flat and the wheel is damaged. There are scrap marks on the other tires. …”
