“My dealership, Westside VW in St. Louis Park, MN, has not completed my recalls in a reasonable amount of time. I scheduled an appointment two months ago to get this done and they canceled it the day before saying they didn't have the parts. They said they'd call when the parts were in stock, approximately 1-2 weeks. That was 2 months ago and absolutely no communication from them.”

NHTSA complaint #11648560, filed 2025-03

“I was halfway into a parking stall. There was a cement sign post at the end of the stall and a truck facing me opposite. About six feet from the post the car accelerated and glanced off the post and hit the truck slightly. It happened very fast but I am 99% sure the car accelerated on its own. We did a search afterwards and found many reports of our model doing similar things.”

NHTSA complaint #11592927, filed 2024-06

“While stopped at a red light, the passenger door opened unprompted & by itself twice. I tried to lock the door on the driver panel, however that seemed to not work as the light did not illuminate signaling the doors locked. When I began driving, the same door opened again by itself. This is a major safety risk to have the doors open by themselves while driving.”

NHTSA complaint #11503030, filed 2023-01

“12-volt onboard battery error codes, stating battery charge is low, and to safely park the vehicle. Alternatively, drive the vehicle to charge the battery. Or charge the vehicle. The car has been to the dealer for testing, and they say that the on-board battery checks out without any problems, yet I continue to get the battery error codes. We don't feel safe to driving the car in fear of complete lockout failure.”

NHTSA complaint #11740645, filed 2026-05

“The vehicle lurched forward as I was parking and hit a parked vehicle in front of me; it accelerated forward even though my foot wasn't on the accelerator. I have contacted VW and was told to take the vehicle to a VW dealer to be inspected; that is happening next week. I did not notice any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms prior to the accident. I had just installed the VW recommended software update 2 days prior.”
