“While my wife was driving at 65mile per hour....the made in brazil, summit tire p195/65r15 drivers side rear tire...inside tread failed. The blowout, broke five bands, and lost about four square inches of tire at the blowout site. Tires are inflated to 35psi, and shows no sign that it was caused by impact damage. The tires had been replace less then two years ago, and had about twentfive thousand miles on them at the time. Damage was caused to the rim, wheel cover and wheel locks by a roadside tech. Whom attempted to change the tire. …”

NHTSA complaint #10174562, filed 2006-11, 115,487 miles“The contact owns a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta. The vehicle is equipped with michelin primacy mxv4 tl tires, size 195/65r15 (na). While driving approximately 80 MPH, the rear driver side tire suddenly had a blow out. The contact lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a guard rail. The tire was completely destroyed. There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The manufacturer was not notified. The VIN, tire failure mileage, and vehicle failure mileage were unknown. Jcc”
