“Car is parked and when it rains water leaks in from the passenger side. No accidents and cleaned all drains and pipes. I remember a letter about a year or two ago regarding this from vw but since my car did not leaked I was not worried, now its a puddle of water. What can I do.”

NHTSA complaint #10496005, filed 2013-01, 200,000 miles

“When my volkswagon Jetta was broadsided at a signal light junction, none of the airbags front or side were activated. Also the rear side door flew off from the car and a result of which both my children were ejected and injured. The car is completely totalled.”

NHTSA complaint #10088737, filed 2004-08, 36,000 miles

“I have had nothing but issues with my 2001 Jetta. I have replaced all the wheel bearings and the front bearing twice. I have also had to replace the engine coils twice on this car. Now in the last 2-3 weeks the clear coat has started to peel off the car. The paint is not coming off just the clear coat. I called the vw care center and they ran me around having me take the car to a vw body shop, and having the service manager look at it and neither one of them could tell me why the clear coat was peeling. …”

NHTSA complaint #10166363, filed 2006-08, 95,000 miles

“2001 vw Jetta wolfsburg 40k miles - water leaks into the car from underneath the instrument panel on the passenger side. Dealer stated that it was the drain channel from the sunroof. Week later the problem reoccurred. Dealer stated that they have no idea as to what is causing the problem. They're in process of taking the car apart. Vw customer service is not being helpful at all. I've seen at least two comments on the web about similar problem, but the dealer and the vw customer service claims that they have never seen this problem before. Any advise before my car gets totally disassembled? …”

NHTSA complaint #10045532, filed 2003-11, 40,000 miles

“Debris from gaskets in air ventilation system exits the air vents and hits the occupants. The debris, on occasion, hit the driver in the eye causing temporary loss of vision. The debris flying out into the face of the driver or other vehicle occupant is always a distraction to driver attention to driving even when direct contact with the eye(s) does not occur.”
