“As I drive the car hesitates . Its almost as if it accelerates and decelerate on its own. As I look online I see there was a recall regarding this issue as its a fuel pump but as I call the dealership they state there is no recall on my specific vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #11328093, filed 2020-06, 114,930 miles

“Upon acceleration, my Passat sputtered like it was coughing, not getting enough gas through the system. Very concerning to me, luckily I was in a small town on a road with not much traffic. It then went back to normal operation, within a number of seconds .”

NHTSA complaint #11020490, filed 2017-08, 39,500 miles

“I just brought my 2010 vw Passat to the dealer to investigate why my gas take has trouble filling. They told me that the vent system in the tank failed and that I would need to replace the whole tank to fix it. This car is only 4 years old and the tank should not have failed. I'm not sure if it's also a safety issue if I keep driving it. I also believe that this should be the responsibility of vw.”

NHTSA complaint #10594245, filed 2014-05, 88,749 miles

“My car stalled as I was starting to accelerate through a busy intersection on the way to work and caused an oncoming car to lock up his tires and swerved to avoid hitting me. The car would restart but not run enough to clear intersection for 10-12 attempts. After clearing intersection I was able to park car and leave it for rest of day. When returning to car it started and ran fine on the way home from work. I continued to drive the car for next 2 days with same failures happening only 1 time a day but not at same time or place with no warning or check engine light. …”

NHTSA complaint #10744134, filed 2015-07, 93,525 miles

“1. Takata airbag inflator (psan inflator) - ongoing unfixed recall item 2. Fuel pump control module- ongoing unfixed recall item -both items have had recall notices dating back to 2017 and beforehand where fixes have not been available to dealership/repair locations.”
