“My vehicle's front assist collision sensor will engage itself while going down some driveways regardless of how slow or angled I try to exit (I always make sure that my exit and turns are safe from any ongoing traffic so the sensor is only being tripped from ground in front of the sensor). I have been almost been rear ended three times because of this and almost hit from the side when the the sensor engaged when I was more than halfway out into the first lane to make my turn. …”

NHTSA complaint #11398000, filed 2021-02, 5,241 miles

“My car alerts me at random times when I am driving down open winding roads that I am going to get in a collision when there are no cars or other vehicles on the road. It also goes off when I'm driving through construction and there's cones on the side of the road but I'm not even close to hitting. In michigan, we have a lot of construction so it shouldn't be going off and scaring me all the time. It will also happen in spurse, so it'll go off three or four times on the same road in the same day and then not go off again for weeks. …”

NHTSA complaint #11372963, filed 2020-11, 200 miles

“Seatbelts are wet and moisture is building up in the car after heavy rain while sunroof and all doors closed and car is parked. Possibly a sunroof draining issue. Seatbelts mainly affected are in the rear, particularly rear-passenger - but front belts affected also. Water also observed in rear door wells and on front driver's window post (left of windshield). Seatbelts smell damp and are so wet that they are uncomfortable to wear and would leave water on clothes,”

NHTSA complaint #11339072, filed 2020-07, 3,000 miles

“The overhead console by the rear view mirror suddenly detached - only hanging by cords. It will not go back on. Duct tape will not even hold it. It is a safety hazard to drive it, and it impairs visibility. The dealership I took it to says this is a problem with 2020 tiguans, but I will have to pay for the repair.”

NHTSA complaint #11754422, filed 2026-08

“I came out of the Walmart and got into my car and the Overhead Console was Detached hanging by electrical cords in front of the rear view mirror. Drove to the Antwerpen delership before they closed and was informed it detached due to HEAT????? Seriously, heat! Have an appointment on 08/07/2024. It appears this is happening alot around the US. Google it”
