“Lower brake lights fail while upper rear windshield light continues to work. Had this work done once in 2005 to correct the wiring situation and now it is having to be done again. I feel this is completely dangerous for both brake lights to fail at the same time. Reading online forums has LED me to believe this is a widespread issue with the 2001 Volvo S60.”
NHTSA complaint #10362123, filed 2010-10, 166,800 miles“In october 2003 and july 2004, while driving my car to work each time what appeared to be small rocks/pebbles/stones have struck the windshield of my 2001 Volvo S60 2.4t in the same general area around the rearview mirror. Both times, the windshield shattered in that region and cracks propagated from the point of impact. This appears to be a stress region in the windshield that cannot withstand impacts by relatively small objects. These two incidents have resulted in the replacement of the windshield each time.”
NHTSA complaint #10086264, filed 2004-08, 17,548 miles“Right front power window inoperable from either side switch control. Power door locks do not respond to remote. Ambient temprarture readout inoperable. Dealer claimed to have upgrade component software. Position bulb outage error text: replaced right rear position bulb.”
