“Severe subframe rust due to excessive heat from the exhaust on the v8 models of the Volvo s80s only. Dealer said the excessive heat will melt the paint off, causing rust to attract to the subframe. The subframe is a critical component to the car, unfortunately although Volvo has said this is a common problem on the v8 models, they will not do anything to fix the problem. This is the only place my vehicle has rust, and the car is undercoated yearly.”

“This car don't have any gauges only the gas no engine temperature or light if I'm in traffic the car stop because is got no gauge I don't know the temperature also no spare tire only came with a pump but. That only work with small hole now the engine temperature is a big issue because the engine is so big overheat and the car shut down now I m in the middle of the freeway I talk with Volvo about this issue many. Times finally they say they will give me 20 dollars in parts to fix the problem I have see in the internet alot of people with the same problem. …”

“The contact owns a 2007 Volvo S80. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle during a rainstorm; rainwater leaked into the vehicle from the top section of the driver's side of the windshield, creating a visibility hazard for the driver. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The local dealer was not contacted regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 150,000.”
