NHTSA complaint #11153176, filed 2018-11, 34,000 miles“My complaint is regarding the poor design on front passenger airbag. Firstly after inflation the airbag damage the dashboard, you will need a brand new dashboard if your airbag going off. Second how is possible the airbag been designed to affect the windscreen by breaking it if inflated ? Is that part of the design or this should not happened in this instance? Please find the photos attached with this complaint.”
NHTSA complaint #11222500, filed 2019-06“The vehicle's Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) safety network experienced a total electrical blackout, resulting in complete airbag non-deployment during a severe unibody-deforming hit-and-run collision. The vehicle was stationary when a high-speed car rammed the passenger side and front profile. Kinetic forces split the cast aluminum steering rack housing completely in half, fractured front CV axle joint cages, and shifted the engine subframe mounts (creating physical gaps and shiny mechanical abrasions beneath the rust layer). …”
