2025 Volvo XC60 Back-over prevention (rear camera) Problems

“In the four months that I have owned this car, the following issues have occurred and have not been resolved: - Google Maps suddenly stopped working while navigating while I was driving on multiple occasions. - Bluetooth connectivity will disconnect suddenly and not reconnect - All audio in the car has stopped since 7/2/26. This includes turn signals, safety alerts, cross traffic alert. This has happened on at least 4 separate occasions (lasting 2 days or more) and usually resolves, but this has persisted. …”

“Car is 16 months old and a plug in hybrid. After replacement of the 12 volt battery, the on board charger, and the wiring harness due to complete system failure, I picked up the car from service. Within an hour of having the car back, the dashboard suddenly went blank while I was driving. There was no warning or notice. This presented a safety issue as I was using GPS and relying on directions at the time. I pulled over and turned off the car and tried to “reset” the dashboard and was unable to do so after several tries. …”

“On 6/24/25 warning given that rear camera — actually all cameras — were unavailable. Cameras remained unavailable for several hours, when they “magically” came back on. 6/24/25 — radio sound disappeared. Only returned after a hard reset of the center infotainment system. 6/25/25 — another warning that cameras were unavailable, but as quickly as it flashed on, it went off, and cameras were available. 6/25/25 — entire infotainment center and air handling/ac system went black while i was driving. Center re-set itself while i was driving. …”

“My infotainment system continues to fail as well as my back up camera (happened within 10 minutes of driving off of the lot when purchased) despite all of the software updates they claim will fix the problem, including the most recent March 2026. Since this update, the failures have increased in frequency to multiple times in a single ride lasting 15-20 minutes. The car has subsequently landed back at the dealership since last Thursday with no answers on how to fix the problems. I am currently in a loaner car waiting for the dealership to hear back from Volvo corporate. …”

“I own a 2025 Volvo XC60 plug-in hybrid (PHEV). The vehicle has recurring software defects that create a serious safety risk. First, the infotainment and central control system repeatedly reboots while I am driving. On a single trip from Washington, DC to Burlington, Vermont, the system rebooted approximately 8 to 10 times. It has also rebooted within minutes of starting the vehicle during local driving. Each reboot blanks the center display, which disables the backup/parking camera and interrupts the speedometer and driver-information display, climate controls, and other functions. …”
