Engine cooling: “Car kept dying when slowing down in traffic. Battery working, ignition not turning over and steering wheel/transmission locked up. Have taken it to mechanics for same problem a dozen times and spent $1,848.52 total. They keep saying they found the problem, but car is even today continuing with same problem. My last 2 cars have been honda/Acura's. Will never buy one again. My daughter also has an Acura and has overheating problems and the same story, puts lots of money into repairs and mechanics tell her the car is fixed and it still isn't.”

NHTSA complaint #10070113, filed 2004-01, 145,000 miles

Seat belts: “The contact owns a 1992 Acura Integra. When the contact started the ignition, the seat belt retractor mechanism malfunctioned. The seat belt was unable to retract and the corresponding warning light illuminated on the instrument panel until the engine was turned off. The vehicle was taken to the authorized dealer and they stated that the part for the repair was no longer available. They also advised the contact to purchase a used part and then they would repair the failure for free. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure and current mileages were 220,000. …”

NHTSA complaint #10239413, filed 2008-08, 220,000 miles

Transmission and drivetrain: “My car has a noticeable vibration in the engine when idling down, but a tremendous vibration when in reverse and when the A/C is on. It also has a vibration when it is down shifting to second gear. I have had all of my motor mounts replaced as recommended by the Acura dealer. I have had my car checked numerous times, to be told by the technicians that they have no clue as to why the car is still vibrating. If you offer and explanation or advice as to how to handle this, it would be greatly appreciated. This is a problem that has existed unresolved for the last past two years. Thank you.”
