“Over a period of time, beginning about the date and vehicle mileage stated above, I experienced a shudder and corresponding noise as the transmission tried to shift gears. Similar to the sensation of driving across closely-spaced rumble strips, the shudder and noise seemed to vary in length of time depending on speed. This occurred many times before I became concerned and started researching during which I found dozens of similar accounts in various on-line forums. Eventually I took my MDX to the dealership for a diagnosis. …”
NHTSA complaint #10660836, filed 2014-11, 102,912 miles“I own a 2004 Acura MDX and 3 out of the 4 air vents (clips) in the front area of the car are broken. They are very cheaply made and fall into pieces when you try to adjust the flow of air. I did some research and found out there is a lot of other people also out there with this problem. Many forums, such as edmunds, has many people complaining about the same thing. They either need to be recalled or Acura needs to start selling replacement clips instead of the entire air vent.”
NHTSA complaint #10402892, filed 2011-05“The contact owns a 2004 Acura MDX. The contact stated that the navigation and back up camera screen were faulty. The back up camera screen remained blank and showed no footage. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to repair the vehicle on their own. The failure mileage was 16,0000.”
NHTSA complaint #11252293, filed 2019-08, 16,000 miles“2004 Acura MDX dramatic deterioration in the braking. The consumer stated the noise has manifested into a grinding metal to metal sound. The dealer told the consumer the noise was a result of heat build up in the brakes when they get low. The right rear speaker vibrated.”
