“The rear view mirror ball and socket joint is loose. The rear view mirror can move out of the set position by its own weight, particularly when warm, or when driving over bumps. This impares the ability to use the mirror when driving.”

NHTSA complaint #10895809, filed 2016-08, 91,000 miles

“I was driving on the highway and a rock flew up from the road and hit my windshield. When I got home, my dad noticed a chip in the corner of my windshield. The next day, the chip formed into a crack over a foot long. I had to get my windshield replaced. It has only been two weeks with my new windshield and the other day I was hit by a rock again, creating another chip. So far, there is no crack. And I found forums that people also had this same issue.”

NHTSA complaint #10197157, filed 2007-07

“My 2007 328I has been in the service department a total of 4 times (that I have paperwork on, it might be more). I have had major mechanical problems with the most recent being electrical. My key will not open any of the doors, I have to use the valet key to get inside. Once I get inside the button on the dash that opens and locks the doors was unresponsive as well. When this started the drivers side mirror also became unresponsive and would not adjust, I can't adjust it to see the road and have almost been in 2 accidents. …”
