“My vehicle is experiencing the same symptoms and is reporting the same trouble codes related to recall number: 17v683000. However, my vehicle is not included in this recall. I would appreciate it if this matter could be investigated and my vehicles VIN included in this recall.”
NHTSA complaint #11413051, filed 2021-04, 112,000 miles“Without any time to pull over, my car has suddenly stopped on a busy highway at speeds of about 45 and 65 not once but twice in about a 3 month span. First time I was stuck in a middle lane going about 45mph and my car completely came to a stop. I needed police to come out and an emergency tow due to location. I took my car to my Bmw dealership and was told it was a fuel pump problem and that it had been corrected. …”
NHTSA complaint #11075712, filed 2018-03, 101,500 miles“Today I was almost killed, and caused many other motorist a great deal of panic. Driving in the left lane at about 65-70 MPH my 2011 328XI suddenly started to loose power. As I attempted to get across five lanes to the shoulder, I was nearly hit numerous times as drivers around me had brake hard or make rapid moves around me. This is the second time in about three weeks that this occurred. I had my fuel pump replaced under warranty at plaza motors. Today my car was towed there again and I am assuming it is the same problem”
NHTSA complaint #10733011, filed 2015-07, 49,500 miles“Before any prompts on the navigation screen ever came up, I would often sometimes smell something burning or giving off a hot rubber smell which I addressed as soon I purchased the vehicle from queens auto mall auction, they said it was nothing to worry about if I did not see the check engine light on. While I was driving my Bmw 328 xi 2011 the car suddenly lost power and a fuel pump malfunction display prompted on my navigation screen. The car stopped on a bridge in the left lane without me being able to pull over. The car would not start up again at all after several attempts. …”
NHTSA complaint #11131624, filed 2018-09, 64,785 miles“Hi I have a Bmw 2011 328XI, recently I was driving the car on the freeway when the car completely shut down on me and literally left me 10 secs to get on the shoulder. Mind you this is busy traffic hour coming back from chicago. I replaced the fuel pump last year, and Bmw takes no owner ship of the problem. I called the customer service and also asked them to diagnose it , but they keep telling me oh we cannot detect it. This is very frustrating as this is my wifes car and I would not want anything happening to her if the car randomly stops in the middle of the free way.”
