Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“2009 Bmw k1300gt motorcycle stalled approximately six times during a 100 mile ride. These incidents occurred as I was slowing and coming to a stop with the clutch pulled in. The bike did not restart immediately four out of the six times. This is highly dangerous, as losing power at any time on a motorcycle means the potential to lose control.”

NHTSA complaint #10282323, filed 2009-08, 8,666 miles

“Total starter switch failure after 3 previous incidents of intermittent failures. The previous failures seemed random and did not fail in front of the dealer. Dealer replaced switch assembly only after witnessing the total failure.”
