2020: “I was driving on the highway at approximately 70 MPH, the posted limit, when all of a sudden the sunroof exploded. It sounded like a gunshot and I almost lost control of the vehicle. Luckily the headliner was closed so the glass did not enter the cabin. There were no vehicles in front of us for at least 1 mile and no overpasses or rocks that I saw or heard hitting the vehicle. It is a stock vehicle with 5200 miles on it.”

2021: “Here’s a strong version that sounds frustrated but still credible and harder to dismiss: I’ve owned many vehicles over the years, and this BMW has been, without question, the most problematic car I’ve ever had. The list of issues has been absurd for a vehicle in this price range and from a brand that markets itself as a premium luxury manufacturer. …”

NHTSA complaint #11738468, filed 2026-05

2022: “The brakes failed at high speed. Yes the vehicle is available for inspection. The car hit a barrier and flipped on its roof. Yes, I and my passenger were both at risk of serious injury. No independent confirmation has taken place at this time. No warning lights indicated malfunction.”
