Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“I was driving on the freeway and alll of a sudden I received an audible and visual warning stating that the passenger restraint system malfunctioned. At the time, there were no passengers in the vehicle. This seems to be an occurring issue with Bmw vehicles. I've had the same problem on two other vehicles.”

NHTSA complaint #11013652, filed 2017-08, 73,000 miles

“The passenger seat weight occupancy sensor intermittently works. I am concerned if it is not working properly, the airbag may not deploy properly. Also, the seat belt warning light chimes even though the seat is not occupied.”

NHTSA complaint #11277430, filed 2019-10, 64,000 miles
