“Traveling on I70 on 9/3 at 70 mph around 2pm the car stopped abuptly and displayed Emergency Stoppage and made an SOS call to BMW. After a few minutes the car was retarted and we proceeded to our destination. No injuries or damage since there was no one behind us. Dealer told us not to drive the car and it iwas towed to BMW Service.”

NHTSA complaint #11685013, filed 2025-09

“We purchased our 2024 BMW X7 in August 2023. We have experienced brake failure twice so far. The first time happened in June 2024. The brake failed in front of the red traffic light. We were lucky that there was no car crossing the road. Otherwise, we would have ended up with an accident. BMW replaced the brake system. But, the post online said that the proposed brake repair does not work. …”

NHTSA complaint #11619245, filed 2024-10

“Unknown. Outstanding recall on brakes that has no update on resolution. My VIN wasn't part of the initial February 2024 recall, but I purchased my vehicle in March 2024. There was no disclosure about the initial recall when I was purchasing the vehicle. It's only been since October that I was notified that my VIN is now part of this brake recall. Online searches and an email with my dealership have been no help in any updates to resolving this issue.”

NHTSA complaint #11626862, filed 2024-11

“This BMW X7 car has had a recall, with no resolution on it since Feb of 2024. I purchased my car in July 2024 and the dealer never once mentioned this to me. This is a serious issue and I do not think this was good business. It's also terrifying to think the brakes on such a heavy and fast vehicle can lock up. This is unacceptable. The cars should be taken back by dealers immediately and owners offered new vehicles which are not part of the recall that are safe.”

NHTSA complaint #11614267, filed 2024-09

“I’ve had multiple issues starting with a left tail light/left brake malfunction. Took my vehicle into Sewell Grapevine and they replaced the left taillight and module. After picking up my vehicle, I began having issues with my dash within a couple days of the repair mentioned above. The assisted parking began turning on by itself when the vehicle came to a complete stop. This happened multiple times while driving. I have multiple videos. I uploaded a screen shot. The dash also turned black. …”
