“This vehicle has had issues since purchased with brakes and power steering I contacted Buick and the dealer where vehicle was purchased and as of 9/8/2014 the brakes were the only ones fixed but power steering still and issue I have contacted Buick four times since march and they still have not done anything to help me and fix this problem they are claiming that it is a workmanship issue and not a manufacturer issue based on vehicle history this vehicle is very clean and no accidents but I am starting to doubt that because power steering gets hard at about 15 to 35 miles and also at 45 to 55…”
NHTSA complaint #10631649, filed 2014-09, 83,000 miles“Buick Enclave will roll back when on a hill. When I have the brakes on while on an incline and attempt to release the brake to hit the gas pedal and advance forward, the car does not stop. The vehicle will continue to roll back when on an incline (whether slight or drastic of an incline) if the brakes are not applied. This has caused a threat to my life and others several times. When I am stopped on an incline, I have to punch the gas in order to avoid hitting the car behind me. This type of applied advancement has caused the wheels to turn out or burn rubber . …”
NHTSA complaint #10325975, filed 2010-04, 7,000 miles“Rear brakes over heated. An inspection revealed that the brake pads were frozen due to rust and worn at an angle and not even causing metal to metal contact. Rear pads and rotors had to be replaced at a cost of $ 347.62. If this had been caught during normal inspection intervals I don't believe the rotors would have had to be replaced.perhaps inspection and cleaning of brake pads should be checked at certain intervals in the northern areas where snow and ice are a problem. Note this happened upon return home from last scheduled maintenance. …”
NHTSA complaint #10577943, filed 2014-04, 38,277 miles“2010 Buick Enclave. Consumer states problem with braking system the consumer stated he heard a noise coming from the wheel on the rear driver side. According to the dealer, the warped rotors were the result of an excessive amount of stop and go driving and too much pressure being applied to the brakes. The rear brake pads were metal to metal and the front pads and rotors were worn. The left rear rotor was worn too much to cut and the left front rotor was too far out of specifications after it was cut.”
NHTSA complaint #10412690, filed 2011-07, 9,000 miles“I have noticed that my brake lights do not come on unless the key is in the ignition and toward the run position. I went to my dealer and was told that is how they are made now. I guess I am wondering why and also if this is true. The service writer did take my to another Enclave and it is just like mine--the brake light does not go on if the key in not in the run position.”
