“Engine light is coming on due to issue with timing chain. My mechanic said GM issued a service bulletin and GM offered extended warranty coverage to fix the problem for model year 2009 but not 2010 (which is my model year). It was a known problem and GM refuses to cover the repair of the timing chain replacement.”

NHTSA complaint #11372985, filed 2020-11, 105,000 miles

“On july 12, 2012 while entering the interstate the check engine light and traction stability service light came on. The car would not accelerate or shift, I could not increase speed to merge into highway traffic, as I tried to merge the vehicle slowly increased speed, not normally accelerating. I eventually was able to get to 55 MPH. The next time I drove the car it acted fine. …”

NHTSA complaint #10470834, filed 2012-08, 29,194 miles

“Takata recall it appears this is a power steering issue with my 2010 Buick Enclave. I had it looked at and now it is still making a loud noise when driving, when making a turn and it make a rough sound now my stability tracking light is popping on saying to check the stability. I was told the rack and pinion and power steering pump were replaced but it is still causing issues. Loud noises occur when driving and when turning it makes a loud noise and my tracking light pops on and off.”

NHTSA complaint #11075762, filed 2018-03, 160,000 miles

“I stopped on an uphill grade and the car rolled backward when I released the brake to move forward into traffic. I called the dealer and spoke with service and was informed that all 2010 Buick enclaves did that. I braked the car again before I hit the car behind me. The car is now at the service department & they are checking it out.”

NHTSA complaint #10308692, filed 2010-02, 6,881 miles

“My check engine light came on last week. I took my 2010 Buick Enclave (82,400 miles) to the local dealer from whom I purchased the car certified pre-owned about 20 months ago. They tell me that the timing chain is worn and must be replaced - an extremely expensive repair that should not be needed on a car with 82,000 miles. Since the manufacturer's warranty only covered it to 5-yrs/100k miles, it was no longer in effect and so they wouldn't cover the cost to fix the car.”
