“The contact owns a 2011 Buick Enclave. The contact stated that the molding cover for the driver's side seat controls failed. The contact stated the seat did not stop operating, but the wires for the controls were exposed haphazardly. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and the part was replaced. The dealer stated that the controls would have failed if they were not repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure and the current mileages were 20,000.”
NHTSA complaint #10499239, filed 2013-02, 20,000 miles“Driver's seat plastic frame components came apart from one another on left side. This area contains electric seat wiring and motors and connectors. Parts of plastic connectors have broken and seat must be held together with strapping tape. This was (several years ago) repaired twice under warranty but continues to fail. I fear the electrical components within the seat frame are at risk. The right passenger front seat is showing similar signs of coming apart.”
