“Driving at highway speed ,with foot on accelerator, engine stalled lost all power steering and braking capabilities (added motor oil). Violent shuddering and loss of fuel mileage (check engine light) dealer changed motormount, no success. I visited a transmission shop, they tell me it may be the torque converter as they have had to replace them on the cadillacs (known problem). I will ask for old parts if GM needs to review to redesign..”
NHTSA complaint #10220720, filed 2008-03, 110,000 miles“The engine dies while driving down the road. It has happened at least a half-dozen times when I take my foot off the accelerator. I have to immediately put it in neutral and turn the key to restart the engine. I've had my mechanic check the computer readout and he found it was the crankcase sytem sensor(s). My mechanic is not associated with a Cadillac dealership. I called Cadillac customer service in michigan and was told by a representative, after he checked my service record, that I had not spent enough money at their dealership to warrant them paying to repair the problem.”
