“Airbag light stays on at all times. Car will not pass inspection. I had to park car and no longer drive even though I put a new engine in it and had the transmission rebuilt in 2013. Dealer says there is no recall on airbag system for my car.”
NHTSA complaint #11139094, filed 2018-10, 218,000 miles“Air bag warning light comes on. After doing some research on the internet it seems to be related to a wiring problem underneath the driver's seat. I confirmed this by moving the seat which causes the light to come on or go out. Since this is a safety related problem which might inactivate the air bags, I believe that this should be handled by a recall notice by GM and the burden to repair the loose wire connection should fall upon GM. Thanks.”
NHTSA complaint #10664207, filed 2014-12, 83,000 miles“The vehicle was rear ended at 40 MPH, which caused a chain reaction and the vehicle hit another motorist. The frontal air bags failed to deploy and the driver's side seat belt failed to retract upon impact. The driver sustained injuries to her neck, back, shoulder right knee , face, teeth, head, and left hand.”
NHTSA complaint #10083356, filed 2004-07, 55,525 miles“While driving 75 MPH the vehicle was a ran off the road by a semi truck and collided head on into a highway sign. The air bag did not deploy upon impact. No injuries reported, however the vehicle is considered totaled. Please provide additional information.”
NHTSA complaint #10105490, filed 2004-12, 73,500 miles“Abs braking system operated poorly. Vehicle did not stop, resulting in extended stopping distance. Neither the dealer or manufacturer were willing to deal with the ABS brake problem. Also. Air bags will not deploy unless the vehicle was hit head on.”
