Example complaints

Transmission and drivetrain: “When the car was put in Reverse Gear, the car was still moving forward and not moving backwards. I tried it multiple times, but it was still moving forward. There was a car in front of my car and since the car was expected to go backwards, this issue put the safety at risk as I could hit the car in front. This issue does not happen every time I do reverse. I bought the car on 1st October and notice the issue on 2nd October 2022.”

NHTSA complaint #11487740, filed 2022-10

Back-over prevention (rear camera): “The rear camera is not working properly. Rear camera is necessary for the driver to help prevent hitting unseen subject behind the car. Let say if there is a 2 years old kid playing in the back of my car, I wouldn't see the kid. I brought the car to the dealership for the 3rd time to get it fixed. But it seems like the problem still occurs. The issue first appeared in after a month of purchase (with about 600 miles on it)”

NHTSA complaint #11495587, filed 2022-12

Visibility (wipers, defrost, mirrors): “I have a Cadillac 2023 XT6 When I put the car in reverse in the daytime the Back up camera display works fine. If it is at night,Raining, or during any hours of the day like in a garage the display dims .It is hard to see a person behind you or any poles. When shifting into Reverse, it is bright then it goes dim. I brought it in to the dealer and they gave me a Chevy loaner and that works great and my last car worked great. The dealer checked everything, Ans I was told it is working to spec although they see an issue that they can't fix.”

NHTSA complaint #11507042, filed 2023-02

Electrical system: “I purchased a 2023 Cadillac XT6 .the issue is when I SHIFT into reverse at night the back up camera get very dim and it is very hard to see anything thru the rear display. Cadillac say's it is working as designed. .They are correct. I tried this on other Cadillac XT6 car and same issue. There is a safety issue it is VERY dim. I tried a Buick,, and Chevy and they both worked great I could see at night in a dim Garage .All ALL they say is it is working as designed . This answer does not fix a safety issue that is required to work in ALL cars. It is very hard to see what is behind me. …”
