Example complaints

Transmission and drivetrain: “The affected part is the engine output shaft, which is part of the vehicle’s powertrain and propulsion system. BRP issued Recall 24V-728 for this defect, stating that the shaft can break and cause a sudden loss of propulsion, creating a safety hazard. I received the recall notice in April 2025 and have been unable to safely operate the vehicle since then. I contacted every authorized Can-Am dealer within 150 miles, but all confirmed they could not perform the recall repair because replacement parts were unavailable. …”

NHTSA complaint #11693290, filed 2025-10

Brakes: “Parking brake failed to disengage after being parked in a parking lot. Reset and disengaged after a three hour period. This the second time this occurs. Module has been replaced one year ago and now the second module is failing.”

NHTSA complaint #11361362, filed 2020-09, 9,000 miles

Engine: “While driving on a straight stretch of highway at posted highway speeds of 75mph, no additional acceleration, torque, turning, or high rpms, my bike experienced a sudden jolt and immediate loss of propulsion. I was able to pull to the side of the highway to find my front left drive shaft had completely sheared off, the front sproket (currently under recall, which has not yet been replaced according to my dealer's service records) thankfully was caught by the frame underneath or it could have flown out into traffic and hit the other biker behind me or other traffic, or causing me to crash. …”
