“02/01/2022 Windshield wiper fails to function unless the circuit board is replaced. GM refused to replace the board for 1992 vehicles even though that same board was recalled for 1994 and later vehicles. Simply said it was not part part of the recall so I had to buy a replacement myself. Was GM recall #98043 expanded to cover 1992 & 1993 year vehicles as well? ABS breaking ( or lack there of) is another matter. Upon entering my Blazer's VIN number into the NHTSA recall system, it revealed six recalls had been issued for 1992 Blazers. …”
NHTSA complaint #11449842, filed 2022-02“Intermittent windshield wiper failures while driving car. Failures have occurred during thunderstorm (very dangerous). Could not reproduce failure at service garage. Recall for wipers problem for same make/model 1994-1996. I believe this should be extended to include 1992.”
NHTSA complaint #706949, filed 1999-05“Seat frame failed twice. Once in the lower frame area which was fixed by welding the frame, and once in the headrest to seat frame connection. Windshield wiper control unit failed during rainstorm resulting in windshield wipers failure to work. Unit replaced by owner and problem resolved. Solder joints to radiator failed twice resulting in dealer charging to repair at 60k miles, and once again during which time owner had radiator repair shop resolder joints to side tanks.”
NHTSA complaint #718713, filed 2000-02“1992 Chevrolet Blazer (tahoe) front windshield wiper control module malfunctions. Causes wipers to not operate or to operate in a random pattern (constant when put in intermittent mode or intermittent when put in a constant mode; will not turn off when in the off position on occasion; will not turn on when needed. Dealer said this has been a common problem (could not keep the part in stock for a while) and that there was a recall on other models with the same component (s10). …”
NHTSA complaint #718981, filed 2000-02“Child restraint belts in rear did not restrain children, front passenger belt does not lock all the time, resulting in injusy to children and passenger in an accident that was due to the ABS brakes”
