“I've been told that Chevrolet Blazer 97 and newer have been recalled for bad wiper motors. I own a 96 Chevrolet Blazer and need to replace it also. This has been occurring off and on now for 6 months, I thought it was the fuse at first, swapped vehicles, etc... Now I've been told that there was a recall on the 97's, however, I'll need to pay for my repair. Sounds like the same problem to me. I don't know why they aren't all recalled.”

NHTSA complaint #10016335, filed 2003-04, 75,000 miles

“Gm has a safety recall on my 1996 Blazer that they will not honor for me. They have indicated the recall was a long time ago and my car is 10 years old. I had the exact problem for the last 5-6 years or more, but never received a notice, and never got it fixed. I was aware of the problem and took measures and limited my driving when it might be a problem. I felt comfortable with the problem as low risk when I drive. Now I am selling the car as is. I feel there could be a safety hazard if someone else is driving that is not as aware and cautious as I am. …”

NHTSA complaint #10183916, filed 2007-03, 50,000 miles

“The ABS light illuminated and there was a smell of gas. The manufacturer has been contacted and there was a recall on these items and they have been repaired per the manufacturer. The windshield wiper motor was intermittent, the hatchback light was intermittent and the internal light was intermittent. Recall# 03v159000 and 96v234000.”

NHTSA complaint #10087785, filed 2004-09, 45,000 miles

NHTSA complaint #10016198, filed 2003-04, 99,000 miles

“The wipers stopped. The problem was with the plastic circuit board on the wiper motor. The dealer claimed that the vehicle was not in the scope of the original recall. The consumer had experienced the exact situation with another Chevrolet truck (1994). Scc”
