“Car accident was may 2008 was reported to usaa insurance and nc commissioner. I am former us army spouse and contractor 15 years. I am back at home of record. I have lost over $5000 to this incident and I deal with added medical disabilities from this dealing with chronic back, tbi ptsd and brain injury to left side. Confirmed with cat scan and army womack hospital. Did not have health care at the time. I have had ignition switch. The light bulb dealing with nc testing issues costing me with testing. Ohio thanks goodness not. But brights don't come on. …”
NHTSA complaint #10733065, filed 2015-07, 150,000 miles“Traveling at 45mph and had to come to a stop. Brakes became very hard to push. Slowly was able to stop Blazer s-10. There was no early indicator that my brakes were failing. Took it to the dealer and they told me the power assist booster is faulty. Cost is over 600.00 to repair .”
NHTSA complaint #10030336, filed 2003-07, 170,825 miles“I have a 1996 Blazer with only 56000 miles on it and the vehicle control unit and the ABS module shorted out costing 1700.00. The car is still young. I did a search for the problem on the internet and over 200 other people posted the same problem. This also happened in my 1993 Blazer. We currently have 5 cars 4 of them are Chevrolet but hopefully that number will decrease, well im sure it will if we keep having problems”
NHTSA complaint #10007616, filed 2003-02, 56,500 miles“I own a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer which I purchased new in 1996. It now has 59,000 miles on it. We have regularly scheduled maintenance done on the car, along with scheduled oil changes, checking belts, hoses, etc. We are constantly having our brakes repaired/replaced. Last year we needed to have a brake booster replaced which cost us over $700 and today we were told that our entire cooling system is corroded...$1,900. At 59,000 miles I certainly don't think this should have happened.”
NHTSA complaint #10018551, filed 2003-05, 59,000 miles“Applied brakes while two car lengths behind another car in traffic on freeway, going about 25 MPH. Brake pedal went to floor, car did not stop until it hit car in front of us. While braking on wet pavement, or rr tracks, or uneven pavement the ABS fails and pedal goes to floor. At my expense I took car to gmc dealership to check brakes. I was told car had no open recalls. They looked at ABS and said there were no errors coming up. Gmc said brake pads were worn - they were replaced 6 months ago, and then again about 30 days prior to accident. …”
