“Accelerating without pressing gas pedal and gas pedal won't release with braking. Brakes overheated and this went on 10 minutes before I got it to release the gas pedal so I could safely stop. I almost hit 4 vehicles on the interstate because the gas pedal went to the floor all the sudden.”

NHTSA complaint #11687752, filed 2025-09

“I am reporting a severe powertrain safety hazard involving my 2022 Chevrolet Blazer at approximately 69,000 miles. The vehicle's 9-speed transmission is experiencing a critical internal hydraulic failure that causes unpredictable and violent lurching. Specifically, there is a severe delayed engagement when shifting into Reverse. The engine revs without moving until the hydraulic pressure suddenly spikes, causing the vehicle to violently slam backwards and catch the gear. …”

“Incident Description: While my wife was driving our 2022 Chevy Blazer at approximately 40 miles per hour, the vehicle’s dashboard suddenly went dark and became unresponsive. Multiple warning lights illuminated simultaneously, including the check engine light, ABS light, and other system alerts. The dashboard appeared to flicker as though it was repeatedly shutting down and restarting. When the brake pedal was applied, it offered no resistance and traveled completely to the floor without slowing the vehicle. …”

“2023: 16K miles, the Chevrolet Blazer in questions transmission went out; thus requiring it to be brought into the dealership for repair; It was repaired and given back to us. A few days after said repair, I was driving it with my son in the vehicle, and the transmission went out while on the highway. I was almost hit from behind as I limped it to the side of the road. A brand new transmission was put in. During this time, there was also issues with the brakes where they were making noises. 2025: Blazer check engine light came on. …”

NHTSA complaint #11676891, filed 2025-07

“My 2022 Chevrolet Blazer abruptly Shut down all power for about five seconds while I was stopped at a red light. The vehicle restarted after I pressed the push-button ignition, but the dashboard displayed a brake system error warning with no explanation of the cause or instructions for next steps. No other warning lights preceded the shutdown. The vehicle appeared to resume normal operation after restart, but the brake system warning remained. This appears consistent with complaints filed by other 2022 Blazer owners describing simultaneous electrical and brake system failures.”
