Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Upon inspection when repairing a flat at a tire service center, I was alerted to the fact that my tread on all 4 tires was low almost to the wear markings. The tires only had at the time 15,000 miles on them and the car is less than 3 years old. I would have not known to check this as it is not in the usual lifespan of a tire, especially on a new car. When reviewing my past inspections at service appointments with my Chevrolet dealership, I can see that they have noted the wear but not alerted me. My tire size is 235/65 R18.”

NHTSA complaint #11569096, filed 2024-01

“265 ./ 45 R21 on our 2022 Blazer AWD Premier. I have the tires rotated every 10,000 miles and the vehicle only has 30,600 miles and all 4 tires have worn out, down to 2/32 or 3/32. I have owned 20+ GM vehicles over the past 25 years and I have never had to replace a tire due to tread wear before 45,000-50,000 miles. This is an expensive mid-range SUV and should not have junk tires. It is also my first GM vehicle that has Continental tires. The replacement Continental tire is $370 each. These are expensive tires and the SUV costs more that $55K, this is not ok. …”
