Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“My engine coolant temperature sensor failed. Replaced it and still not fixing the issue. This takes my steering assist away as they are all interlinked? I have seen on forms this is a common issue. This has the potential to blow up my engine, I’m not sure how this is not a recall with so many 2020-2026 blazer owners having the same issue.”

NHTSA complaint #11732623, filed 2026-04

“While driving on the road at/or about 45 mph to my workplace, the transmission gave out and lost forward momentum. I had the transmission serviced for its second serivce at 84705 miles just ten days before this happened. The first service occurred around 47k miles when I learned about this issue with Chevrolet transmissions.”

NHTSA complaint #11760296, filed 2026-08

“My transmission started slipping really badly. Had never happened before, and then suddenly wouldn’t shift above 3rd gear. My reverse gear stopped working. I had to have my valve body replaced which fixed the drive gears but the reverse still didn’t work. After months without my car, my dealership had to replace the transmission.”

NHTSA complaint #11586006, filed 2024-04

“I am reporting a severe powertrain safety hazard involving my 2022 Chevrolet Blazer at approximately 69,000 miles. The vehicle's 9-speed transmission is experiencing a critical internal hydraulic failure that causes unpredictable and violent lurching. Specifically, there is a severe delayed engagement when shifting into Reverse. The engine revs without moving until the hydraulic pressure suddenly spikes, causing the vehicle to violently slam backwards and catch the gear. …”

NHTSA complaint #11768179, filed 2026-09

“The engine fan has been running and the check engine light has come on and upon further inspection I discovered that this is a common issue with this vehicle. I have had my vehicle inspected and serviced by Chevrolet since I purchased it and I informed the technician that there was water under my vehicle if it ran idle on several occasions and was told that it was a non issue and now that my vehicle is out of warranty there is an issue with the same thing I have been concerned about.”
