Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“At speeds above 40 MPH the 4 wheel drive had been engaging by self the past month, sometimes in low mode. Very loud gear noises, shuddering, vibration & significant sudden decrease in speed. Occurrence is dangerous at any point, but most critical when approaching a toll booth. An inexperienced driver could readily lose control of vehicle. Latest incident (date given) so violent & can't disengage 4 wheel drive, the SUV is parked until repaired. Independent repair shop will examine, & hopefully repair at reasonable cost, the vehicle week of 8/1-5/05.”
