“It started with my gauges bouncing all over going on and off , then it felt like the brakes were on and I had to give it alot of gas to get going.now the dash will work when I turn the key on but as soon as it starts it goes out with the exception of the oil pressure and the charging gauge. The transmission isnt working right at all and I dont dare drive it anywhere. The fuse box under the hood does not test right, only about half of it has power and I am at a loss there! There has been electrical probnlems with it ever since I bought it.”

NHTSA complaint #11351063, filed 2020-08, 140,000 miles

“I was driving to work when all of a sudden a heard a loud pop. Then my vehicle would not accelerate. I got to work and my vehicle would not go in reverse. I call my mechanic and had my vehicle towed. It was my transmission that went and it only has 50k miles on it. It cost me 1,400 for the transmission,84.00 for the tow and 102.00 for the rental.”

NHTSA complaint #10104701, filed 2004-12, 50,000 miles

“I bought this Blazer 5 months ago and it only has 77,000 miles on it. I took my inlaws to the airport on saturday morning, 11/29/03, and the transmission went out, no reverse, only 1st and 2nd gear works. I am told by 3 different transmission shops that this is a common problem with this transmission. This is not right, why wasn't this been recalled?”

NHTSA complaint #10049135, filed 2003-12, 77,001 miles

“I have a 2000 chevy Blazer on december 16, 2005 the transmission went out. It only has 70,000 miles on it. When I went online to see if I could find a transmission for it, all I found was several websites that complained about the 2000 chevy Blazer transmission and all the problems it was having.”

NHTSA complaint #10148181, filed 2006-01, 72,000 miles

“2nd chevy Blazer I've owned that had ball joints go bad. I've owned several vehicles for as long or longer with more miles & never had to replace ball joints on those. 1st Blazer was a 1997 that I replaced ball joints on in 2003, now I have a 2000 Blazer and have to replace the ball joints on it.”
