“On a routine oil change on my 1999 chevy Blazer, my mechanic pointed out that the brake lines were corroded, and he was concerned that I would lose the brakes while driving. He test drove the car, and the brakes gave out. He was not driving fast and told me that if I kept that car the brake lines would have to be replaced. Was there a recall? Fox news told about a possible recall on april 9, 2010.”

NHTSA complaint #10326712, filed 2010-04, 202,602 miles

“There was a manufacturer's recall in august 20, 1999 for 2000 chevy blazers: the brake pipe union fittings that feed the various brake system components may leak and cause a loss of braking function and need an additional stopping time. Dealers will inspect the brake pipe union for signs of leaking brake fluid and replace the union if necessary. Our vehicle is a 1999 Blazer that appears to have the same problem, but Chevrolet claims there wasn't a recall issued for our vehicle. We think it should have been included. …”

NHTSA complaint #10933904, filed 2016-12, 100 miles

“I am shocked to find out that there are so many other people having problems with the ABS brakes and the front end ball joints. I am actually afraid to drive my Blazer after reading about the problems. I live in a small town in the mountains and have to drive mountain roads and along a river to get to a bigger city. I average about once a month this trip and if I my Blazer was to have a wheel fall off because of a bad ball joint system I and maybe others would be dead or seriously hurt. …”

NHTSA complaint #10511332, filed 2013-05, 100,000 miles

“While driving I had a complete brake failure on my 1999 Chevrolet Blazer the brake pressure moudulation brake pipe let go without warning. The brake warning light came on as the brake pedal went to the floor. The dealer has had my car since 12/22/04 and has been unable to get the part to repair the car.”

NHTSA complaint #10105715, filed 2005-01, 85,590 miles

“My ABS brake system is experiencing the same symptoms as those in the recent recall. So far nothing has happened but do not want to have an accident occur due to the same recall problem. I do not want to pay to have it checked by the extreme high cost of a dealership.....”
