“I recently purchased a 2011 Camaro ss. This was a gift to my wife because she had always loved the Camaro. The car was purchased at a Chevrolet dealership. My wife drove the car home about 70 miles with no trouble at all. A few days later the temperature in north carolina dropped to around 40 deg and started to rain. My wife took my daughter to the store and she was unable to get above 30 MPH because the car was uncontrollable due to the rear end constantly fish tailing. I was called by her crying because she was so scared. …”

“Ac started to blow out really cold air (could see the cold air coming out) and would hear the compressor being turned on and off and then no more cold air would blow out. Took it in to the dealer and they said it was the condenser. Purchased a condenser and another mechanic said that the compressor would not turn on. Researched problems and seems that it has something to do with the control module not communicating with compressor to turn on and off. I can not find any recalls or a dealer that will repair this or if this is even what it is.”

NHTSA complaint #10703522, filed 2015-04, 48,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated upon starting the ignition the engine warning light illuminated continuously. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where they detected the rear differential was severely damaged as a result to excessive metal fragments in the gear box oil. The vehicle was repaired for the engine warning indicator and the gear box oil was replaced. The engine warning indicator malfunction persisted after the repair. …”

NHTSA complaint #10454040, filed 2012-04, 3,608 miles

“The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro. While the contact was driving between approximately 35-55 MPH on normal road surfaces, the vehicle began to rattle and shake excessively. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on numerous occasions for the same failure. The technician stated that the vehicle was operating as intended. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 60. The consumer was informed the exhaust was making the noise, but there was no fix for the problem. Updated 09/06/11. Updated 8/29/11 updated 09/28/11”
