“Firstly the passlock system is a huge issue, if the parts in the system ignition system break down or trip you can be stuck high and dry on a whim. Passlock system is prime reason for my worries when driving my truck will cut fuel out and shut down and stall when I'm driving or need to start up my truck again also the blower resistor and cable are faulty as are other electrical systems but the blower motor resistor is outright a fire hazard that can melt or burn out. …”

“I have a 2006 Colorado 2006 crew cab l-5 engine. I have owned it for 2 1/2 months. It has been to the dealer for 1. Rear main bearing seal leak three times. 2. Two wheel alignments. 3. Auto- transmission cable fell off. This was when I was bringing it in to the dealer for one of the many repairs. 4. It still has to go back for replacing the rear window (on order). This vehicle has been in the shop for 25% of the time I have owned it.”

NHTSA complaint #10152534, filed 2006-03, 1,828 miles

“I own a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado ls. Inexplicably and randomly, it shifts itself into 4wd high. Often this is while making a right hand turn. Chevrolet stopped servicing my vehicle, telling me there was no cure for this problem. It has happened at high speeds on the highway as well. The most recent date this happened was yesterday while I was turning into my post office. This has been a constant problem since the recorded mileage was 2,109. Records will show the truck was in for service by GM at least 15 times. …”

NHTSA complaint #10325693, filed 2010-04, 72,103 miles

“P0017 code , mechanical engineering design malfunction. Electrical engineering curcuit (12v) steady design malfunction, actuater part design malfunction. High rate of speed engine rev/or power lose. Low rate of speed RPM not consistent, un controlled rev/power lose. The electronically components powering and monitoring the specific curcuit are faulty. Design is consistently an issue on 2005-2017 make models. Public record can show these engineering design faults. …”

NHTSA complaint #11040372, filed 2017-10, 15,000 miles

“Engine had a misfire and would stall sometimes when you made a tight turn at low speeds. Found out it had a bad value seat causing it to have the misfire. Gm messed around and wouldn't fix it. Red other people had bad value seats too. Spent my own money to get it fixed.”
