“The pass lock system will not let the truck start has left me stranded many times. Heater blower motor stopped working on 1, 2, & 3 settings. Blower motor resistor and plug were burnt, started a minor fire could have been worse. When I turn the vehicle to the right makes a large vibration and the vehicle shuts down can't get it to turn back on.”
NHTSA complaint #11271747, filed 2019-10, 100,000 miles“The vehicle will go from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive without any warning. This has happened 4 different times. I stop and push the button to return to 2 wheel drive and it goes back to 2 wheel. I did not do any input when it changes to 4 wheel spontaneously while moving at 20 to 30 MPH and then turning a corner, the wheel stutters, I look at the dash and it's in 4 wheel drive.”
NHTSA complaint #11209508, filed 2019-05, 55,000 miles“Occasionally when the truck comes to a stop or coasting, the RPM gage starts to fluctuate, and the truck starts to shake. Most of the time it will result in the truck completely turning off. This happens almost every day; occurring atleast 1-3 times. The first time it started was in the summer of 2009. It is really frustrating when this happens at an intersection, a light or maybe as I am turning, but it is extremely frightening when it happens while I'm going down hill or if I am on the freeway. I have almost gotten into car accidents because of this. …”
NHTSA complaint #10313375, filed 2010-02, 21,000 miles“I purchased a Colorado one week later my brakes went out. And I managed not to get in a crash. I took it to the dealer and they fixed it . They told me the vehicle sits on the lots 4 months and months and stuff might wiggle loose. Ok I figured . Three weeks later which would be 3/5/09 I left work and it was a nice day I turned my AC on and noticed my blower only worked on 2 and 3 my 1 and 4 would not work so I drove to an auto parts store about 10 miles away and talked to the guy and he told me its probably blower motor resistor switch. …”
NHTSA complaint #10261085, filed 2009-03, 1,700 miles“For more than 10,000 miles (starting around 33-34,000 miles) and over a year my truck has experienced an intermittent rough idle. Without warning the idle will become rough and on several occasions the truck has almost stopped running. These events do not trigger a check engine light. When I take the truck to the dealer they cannot explain what is taking place. The truck has been in at least 6 times and I am losing my patience. The standard explanation is no check engine light then the problem is impossible to diagnose. I have contacted Chevrolet and so far they have not been any help. …”
