“Brake lights on my 2008 chevy Colorado are not working ,a few years ago I had the same problem and took it to the dealer for repairs , the problem came up again but this time I see there is a recall for vehicles like mine , except it looks like the repairs are not covered by the manufacturer because the vehicle was sold in california. Recall#09v310000”

NHTSA complaint #10862122, filed 2016-04, 30 miles

“A few years ago, noticed my cruise control wasn't working. I took it to a certified repair shop and found out the part was under recall, and that my brake lights weren't working either. The problem was fixed, until this week. I noticed today that while driving, the cruise isn't working. When I parked my truck, I tested my back brakes in a reflection- not working either! Again! Is this part under recall still?”

NHTSA complaint #11181476, filed 2019-02, 115,000 miles

“My vehicle almost completely lost all of it's brakes. Upon short inspection under the hood, I found the grommet that seals the brake system check valve to the power booster almost completely ripped into two pieces. Prior to this incident, no maintenance or any other under hood maintenance had been performed on this vehicle other than regular oil changes. This part is nowhere near the area required access for an oil change so there is no way this was caused by improper handling of the part.”

NHTSA complaint #10385128, filed 2011-02, 35,600 miles

“I purchased a Colorado one week later my brakes went out. And I managed not to get in a crash. I took it to the dealer and they fixed it . They told me the vehicle sits on the lots 4 months and months and stuff might wiggle loose. Ok I figured . Three weeks later which would be 3/5/09 I left work and it was a nice day I turned my AC on and noticed my blower only worked on 2 and 3 my 1 and 4 would not work so I drove to an auto parts store about 10 miles away and talked to the guy and he told me its probably blower motor resistor switch. …”
