“I discovered I had no brake lights when driving. I had this fixed at the dealer and it was the stop lamp switch malfunctioning. It turns out there is a recall on this part for 2004-2009 Colorado's but not my 2010. Somebody could of been killed!”
NHTSA complaint #10887800, filed 2016-07, 38,193 miles“Brake lights and cruise control do not work. Checked fuses and they were good. Likely due to faulty brake switch. There is a recall out for this issue but it does not cover the 2010 model.”
NHTSA complaint #10690175, filed 2015-02, 40,000 miles“The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated that when applying the brakes, the vehicle would stop abruptly, causing the contact's body to be thrown forward toward the windshield. The dealer was notified of the failure but denied any assistance. The manufacturer was not contacted and the vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 2,500. Updated 09/28/11”
